Meeting room

There are many memories stored at the Atwater Historical House.  Memorabilia looms around the meeting room, as well as other rooms in the house.  The house is available for touring.  Please contact us or come join us for a meeting on the 4th Wed. every month!  Here are some of the photos that may be of interest to those who enjoy taking in a bit of History.

We are always seeking more artifacts from days of old, even if you just want to bring them in for a night to share the memory of what history stands behind the item.

Our meetings are pretty informative – we have many speakers come in and talk on aspects of life in Atwater.  Our members help with community projects and help instill good spirits

  1. I’m looking for any info about Otho Clyde Grate. He was worn in 1890 and was my grandfather. Married to Vesta A. Thomas in MO. Thanks, Dinah

  2. Dinah,

Thanks for your inquiry. I will ask around, however I have not found an Otho Clyde Grate in our area. I will still look and see what I can find.

    Thanks again,

  3. I have a picture of an Atwater Semi-pro football team, The Atwater Independants, taken in 1921 along with the names of all the players.
My father, Murray Brockett and his brother, Carol, was on the team.
I am trying to find any information I can about the team. Can you help and do you have this picture? If not are you interested in a copy?
    Thanks, Garth

  4. I am looking for any information regarding my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother Mr. and Mrs. Rufus A. Harding who were living in Atwater in 1907. I have a postcard dated 17 Oct 1907 addressed to “Mrs. R.A. Harding, Atwater, OH”. I think they may have lived on Railroad Street. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Orin Harding
