The Atwater Historical Society will hold it’s Wednesday, October 26th meeting at 7:30 PM at the Society’s Museum, located at 1219 State Route 183, next to the Town Hall.
The Society has purchased an Ohio Historical Marker through the Ohio Historical Society. It has been delivered and plans are in progress to have it installed at the Atwater Cemetery next to State Route 183. It commemorates the death of nine men and a nine year boy in a coal mine accident at the Atwater Coal Mine Company in 1872. This Mine Tragedy will be discussed at our meeting
This will be an open ”bring a friend night”, so invite a friend to come with you. There will be questions and stories about Atwater and the local area. Bring your old photos and area artifacts. Free refreshments and snacks will be available.
